Full steam ahead on the Gurktalbahn, Austria's 1st museum train.

Narrow-gauge romance that is second to none – the steam locomotive pulls the train just as it did 100 years ago and its eye-catching appearance make it stand out against the landscape.

Your legs will tingle when the locomotive makes the "choo-choo-choo-choo" sound familiar only from western films. The huge cloud of steam then finally fades over the blooming meadows and fields of Althofen. Passengers particularly enjoy riding on the open carriage platform. Breathe in the distinctive smell of charcoal while your hair blows in the breeze. There is even a red buffet car serving all kinds of drinks and snacks.
